It is best to have zero lives before you accept the "New Day" option.
You will get 5 full lives when you start a "New Day". You can spin the Lucky Spin Wheel to try and win lives or boosters. Higher level players can use Energy Spheres to remove maximum number of obstacles in certain levels. Make sure to focus on a particular part of the field so that it can be cleared faster Elements like growing lily, honey, ivy, weeds, affects the field when consecutive matches are not made. Use generators to their maximum extent as soon as the level starts. Fireworks and Sealed Fireworks can be used to collect/remove maximum items from the field. Always collect butterflies / ladybugs first since they appear slowly. If you are searching gnomes, you can see through thin grass if they are beneath. Using the Rainbow Blast + Rainbow Blast and Dynamite makes it much easier to start a level. Two rainbow blasts combined will clear the whole field. Try to make more explosions at once as it charges the rainbow blast faster. Try to use as many boosters in the game board as possible. This creates a better probability for making power ups Try to make matches in the bottom of the field. 
If you still lose, the booster goes to waste. Try using an in-game booster only when you are certain you will win after using it.Most of the time you won't need them, so use them only when you got stuck for a while. Try a level out before already using boosters.

Exchange lives with friends through facebook. Make sure to collect lives from teammates every four hours. 
All races (boat/airship/archaeological) start at 6:00am (UTC), all bonus events or side events start at 7:00a.m (UTC) and all competitions (except fiery sprint) start at 8:00am (UTC). Avoiding the skip prompt makes the game register more points for events. While the modifier is on, make use of the hoarded unlimited boosters to complete more levels. Make use of the seasonal event for hoarding unlimited lives/ unlimited boosters and use it at the right time you are free.
